My Delhi Manifesto – Exclude the things which are harming our ecosystem.

The national capital of India, Delhi, is the heart of our nation and it is oblivious to know that some things are heading in wrong direction. The most affecting part for me as the citizen of this nation is that we are following the practices of other nations. For example we wear the outfits which are exactly similar to the ones that are being practiced in colder region. And we need the Air Conditioner’s to keep ourselves working in the closed cabinet of well constructed cement office building which has been constructed with unnecessary usage of glass as well. So I just want to focus on the basic things which are harming our ecosystem just because we don’t even want to think over it. But thanks to for conducting this My Delhi Manifesto contest where we can focus on some issues which really need to be changed at the earliest.

I would like the following changes to take place at the earliest.

Minimized bicycle usage:

Today is the world of speed and every individual in the city wants to drive a moped, bike or a car at the earliest rather than using a bicycle. This practice is going to earn us nothing but a pollution title not because Delhi is the largest city in India but because of the exploding population. So it is very important to encourage the citizens of Delhi to maximize the bicycle usage.

Exclude glass usage in construction of office buildings, apartment and house:

Now a days we all are fond of well constructed house, office buildings as well as apartments and yes we do take care of installing the glass windows as well as using the colored glass to obtain the exotic look. So is it really necessary to make enormous usage of glass where the climate is hot and humid at most of the times? Hence, it is better to exclude the usage of glass which affects our ecosystem by generating heat.

Air Conditioner – Is it necessary:

As mentioned above if we make use of glass to construct our office buildings or home then obviously we will have to install a powerful Air Conditioner (AC) which will keep the temperature down and that to at the cost of electricity as well as the CFC is being gifted to our atmosphere. So why can’t we refrain from installation of Air Conditioners?

Well constructed Sports Stadiums are closed in off season:

Being the host of first most Asian Games, the citizen’s of Delhi are not inclined towards sports. I feel that every citizen should involve themselves into sports and make use of the well constructed stadiums which remain closed during the off season. So why are the citizens not using them to stay fit and healthier?

Large amount of electricity consumption:
As Delhi ranks 2nd most populated urbanization in the world, it obviously needs a large amount of electricity supply. Are the residents of Delhi getting ample amount of electricity supply? As of now there is no shortage but what if less is available in the grid itself?

Are we really prepping up to change our lifestyle? It is the time for us to start changing the things which falls under the section of unnecessary things and I have tried to mention few of them in the above post which are widely affecting our ecosystem.

Unfortunately, I wished she had a Smart Suraksha with her.

I am participating in the Seeking Smart Suraksha contest at in association with Smart Suraksha App.

It was the Sunday of October 2013 and I was busy working with the weekly work related to home like bringing vegetables, grinded flour and pressing my clothes. Actually it is the work which I love to do on Sunday’s and be ready for the coming 5 days of the week to rush at a rapid pace. On that day, I was in the flour mill waiting for the flour to be grinded and I was very annoyed just because it was taking a lot of time to grind and I had to wait in total of about 50 to 55 minutes or so. Well the reason was obvious that every one does this sort of work on Sunday’s and I was really stuck because of this situation.

The location of this flour mill is just few yards from the highway and it is a calm location with no rush of vehicles at all. I had parked my bicycle just outside this mill and I was watching the small kids who were playing cricket on to the ground which was just few meters away. Suddenly, they all disappeared as it was getting dark. The next moment, I was shocked with an annoying behavior of one man who might be around 30 to 35 years of age and he kicked one tree which was ahead of the flour mill. Just after this incident that man started walking ahead and he was having fun just because it was Sunday. After this incident, I saw 3 to 4 men accompanying him and they stood in the middle of the road and that too just below the street light. At this moment the sun was about to set and there was not a single vehicle on the road.

At first I thought these poor guys are having fun because they get only one Sunday to enjoy and I went inside the flour mill to check how long I had to wait. I came out and I was happy that my turn had arrived and in the next 10 minutes I would be at home. So I stood near the bicycle and I kept an eye on those guys who were kind of blocking the street but the impression of these guys was such that they were waiting for someone. I thought they might be waiting for their friend but I was wrong.

One lady was passing by this route and I saw these 5 creatures staring at her and kind of approaching towards her as well as they kind of tried to block the road. I suddenly rushed towards my bicycle and unlocked it so that I can bang into these 5 creatures if they tease or obstruct that lady to venture ahead. But to my surprise that lady was talking on a phone and she changed hear path, turned around and started to walk back. After few minutes these 5 creatures disappeared just because on of those creatures received a phone call.

Meanwhile that lady was relived and she swiftly started walking ahead as these 5 creatures were disappeared in a fraction of second. I am unfortunate to say this but it could have been a worst case if I had not been there watching every move of these creatures. For a moment I thought that these guys could have crossed their limits and who knows as it was a silent area they might have harassed that lady who was all alone on that Sunday. Now I cannot even think of that scary situation through which that lady went and she had to change her path so as to protect herself.

The above shameful incident might be occurring in every city of India and this is a disgrace in the name of our country. We all the citizens of this nation have to stride forward, keep our eyes wide open and restrict these types of events from taking place in future. As of now, unfortunately, I wish that she had Smart Suraksha with her on that Sunday. She could have sent an emergency message to here family, friends and police by just pressing the power button onto her mobile handset.

Everyone: Keep on learning and always do right things in your life.

Every living being has to keep on learning and one should choose to do the right things throughout their life despite of the difficulties that come in their way. There are many things in our life from which we learn and it is our responsibility to transfer these moral learning’s to the small children’s and all the people who wish to build a perfect social living environment.

In this way we learn many things in our life and it matters the most on how we look at the things, learn from it and telecast the right energy towards the society and especially towards the young generation of the country. In this way, I would like to share few events of my life which I have experienced, learned from it and I want the younger generation to take note of it.

I saw, I learned event 1: Do not throw trash anywhere in the country.
One day, I was travelling with my classmate and we ate few chocolates and chips while travelling through the bus. Soon the bus took a halt near small hotel which was less crowded and by this time we were ended up with the trash of chips pocket an chocolates. I thought that I should throw all this trash near that hotel so that there will no trash along the highway. Soon my fellow classmate shouted at me, what are you doing? I said come on it is a small hotel and its owner might be cleaning the hotel every day and I think this is the best place to throw our trash. Again my friend yelled at me, do you see any dustbin outside there? I said, nope. Then my friend said that you better hand over all that trash to me so that I can drop it inside the dustbin and not on the roadside or in the premises of any hotel. He gathered all the trash and put it into his bag and I too helped him to pick up every piece that was in my hand. In this way, I learned that It is my responsibility towards keeping the nation clean and tidy and I should always choose to throw trash inside the dustbin and not around it or around the less crowded place. At this time I remembered that we always have a choice to do what is right.

I saw, I learned event 2: Money is not the solution to help poor ones.

One day I and my college friends decided to venture with our bicycles to an unknown place and we were enjoying the beautiful nature surroundings where sun was shining bright and we all were not tired of cycling as well. At that there was no any traffic on the road and we started a photo session and suddenly a moment appeared where a lady (might be around 50 to 55 years of age) started weeping in front of me and demanded money for her journey which was 20 kilometers away from that location. As this was the first ever event in my life my hands went towards my pocket and I offered her Rs. 10/- (at that specific moment, that was all that I had in my pockets and I even tried to search for more). And as soon as I offered money to that lady, she took it, stopped crying and went away in a flash (of course by walk and not by a vehicle for which she asked me money).

All my college friends were watching what I did and they kept quite till that lady disappeared. As soon as she disappeared my friends said that money was not the solution to help that poor lady as she went ahead by walk and she seemed to be the resident of that area. My friends then yelled at me and questioned me about my act of offering money to help her. They said we could have purchased her a ticket if she was really going to venture ahead. At this time looking at that scenario, I learned that really money was not the solution for that first most situation in my life. I apologized to my friends and then they also said to me that we should help them but offering money is wrong and they also said that small poor boys and girls should not offered money as their parents force them to do wrong in their very early age. My friends said if you really want to help them then you should offer them food and not money. In this way, I learnt that we need to help others but offering money is totally wrong at such unpredictable situations.
